Have to agree with Myranda, rotator cuff injuries suck. Didn't do mine too badly but sleeping was a huge issue - one wrong move and I would be sitting bolt upright in bed wondering who had put the red hot poker through my shoulder!
BTW for doing the muscle rub, invest in a box of latex (or nitrile) gloves and use them for rubbing it in. Saves a lot of pain especially if you go to the loo and still have some of the rub on your hands - imagine a blow torch on the 'nads.
