Hi,
I am looking for a good electric guitar instructor in Central London. Ideally someone who plays hard rock/ metal. Very grateful if someone could point me in the right direction.
Thanks!!

PM'd
Nothing has come in yet.
PM'd again. Hopefully this time it went through.
Cheers
I recommend Jonny Scaramanga if you want hard/rock/metal. Here's a link to an interview with him for interesting reading and another to his teaching website.
I know it says Bath, but he's just moved to London. And if you want proof of him teaching me, I'm in one on the photos on his homepage - far left, playing a white Strat. :o:D
Thanks for the recommendation Guitar_Slinger – I owe you a pint!
If you go with octatonic for lessons, I'm sure you'll have a great time. He sold me a pedal on the forum and he was a great guy to deal with. I don't want to step on his toes, but if you decide not to have lessons with him for any reason, I'd be very happy to teach you.
Can I ask a stupid question?
Why would you teach in a particular genre? That seems very limiting to me - like teaching English but only in Science Fiction.
Surely a person needs to learn music and then can play anything he wants.
Thanks Jonny, you were equally great to deal with.
Not a stupid question at all.
I can only speak for myself but I don't only teach rock/metal.
The OP wants to study those genres and I am happy to teach him primarily those techniques and concepts.
I advocate being a well rounded player though- I do teach 'music' rather than specific genre's in most cases but if a student specifically wants to learn rock/metal then you try to accommodate that.
A lot of other stuff gets included along the way.
