Kit re-jig advice needed. . .
Hey guys, first let me apologise for the long post - and if this is in the wrong section as it covers more than just effects!
I am looking at rejigging my kit at the moment, let me start off by saying my metal and gigging days are over - I got rid of all the Ibanez's etc - and this kit is going to be used specifically for a Church band - so I wont be needing anything high gain.
Guitars I have are a Baja Tele and a US Strat with a Little '59 in the bridge. I also have a Tech21 Power Engine 60 - here is the dilemma.
I have around £450 to spend according to the missus, which is nice - however I cant see myself being able to go down a tube amp route due to the volumes we will be playing at combined with the sound guys not wanting to mic any amps. I am also not convinced I could get a decent tube + the effects I need for what I need to do in £450.
I was looking at the POD HD500 - but trolling forums on Line 6 and Google people seems to be getting a lot of trouble getting them to sound good through a PA - and the Tech21 which I thought was a flat response amp seems to not be. ....
So I open the floor up - can you know it all guitar experts advise me?
Sound I am looking for is a Lincoln Brewster type of feel, with some heavy delay effects a la Nigel Hendroff of Hillsong - examples below.
