Heartily recommend a Weber Mini Mass. My friend has one and loves it and as well as that, Ted Weber (I think that's his name) actually personally helped him out recently with service support after his one had a slight problem.
No direct experience of these (far too quiet for me!) but I've heard this from others too and they also know what they are talking about.
Just a suggestion though,

I had a Hot Plate ages ago but I'd rather get something with selectable impedance - for obvious reasons.
The one Rob suggested is something I was looking at due to cost. It's half price anything else but the sceptic inside me suggests there's a reason for this? Any thoughts?
Hugh - Yeh it's almost certainly got a home but my ears are ringing like fuck from a blast last night.
