They did indeed - i still kick myself for not grabbing a "good" one (50s, tobacco burst) and just getting any problems fixed on it if it had any :(

Don't even get me started on past GAS mistakes................
I sold a Crate Powerblock for £35
I sold a Japanese CE2 for £45
I sold a "long dash" Jap DS1 for £40
There's loads more but I'll save them for when I'm bored.
K
I sold my one recently for £1150 on ebay! They are really desireable!
Have another Bump on Me Ant.
Beautiful Lester, but I still miss "Goldie" more than you'll ever know! ;)
I have less than £950 to spend otherwise I would have gone for this,
its a nice guitar, I have seen Gibson classics go for less though, so I am keeping my eye out for one of those, plus someone is selling a standard for £1000 so maybe it is a bit high.
I just count myself as being lucky, when I bought mine. As a comparison, Les Paul Standards were around £1400-£1500 at the time, and it seemed such a bargain, given that the underlying spec was largely the same between the two.
so whats the going rate for a 2004 standard now? I am obviously out of touch!!
