    To be fair, it wasn't Paul who designed the PRII, it was a guy called Ed Jahns (IIRC). They were going after the Boogie Mark series lead tone and I reckon they got in the ball park. The PRII is a great amp, as mentioned the cleans are excellent. The DRII isn't as good, despite the extra tone controls for the overdrive channel, it still sounds crap! The cleans are the same as the PRII (i.e. very good).

    One thing to say on that .. the crunch channel really sounds nasty/fuzzy on lower volumes. When you push the amp really hard (what I did only a couple of times) it gets much better.

    Seems like it was built to be played really, really loud
