happy with the kit?

wife wants to treat me for my 40th and I miss my old cheapo ION kit that I beat to death so looking for a budget end up to £500 ish kit..

quite like the look of the HD-1, nice and compact and I have played a Roland mesh snare in the shop before and been impressed..

anything else to consider?

My lad has a HD-1 in his bedroom for quiet practice, not bad at all for the purpose, good fun but can feel a little constricting. I don't know about the HD3, I would check to see if it's worth the extra tbh.
