    Default Boredom busters

I've only ever played about 5-6 gigs, but one of the biggest thing I've ever foudn (especially when higher up the bill of bands and considering getting there early to set up) is that I fucking HATE the backstage two-hourish wait before the gig itself.

The best I've ever come up with to kill boredom is to find an office chair (failing that, a bass amp with wheels) and ride around backstage for a bit.

Does anyone have any better suggestions for killing boredom and annoying tedious bandmates?

You could read the book, "How to become a geordie in only 5 meals"?

Find somewhere nice(ish) to eat, you'll need an evening meal, and it's good to a) get out of the venue, and b) eat something that's not caked in lard. Try not to drink much, though - keep it to 1 pint/glass of wine.

Failing that, I throw things at the drummer.

Yep, get out of the venue if possible. Light meal, excellent.
I generally try to get away from the singer for a bit, cos he's a right diva before a gig.

Read the Slash autobiography, he had some interesting methods for combating boredom.

Mingle with the audience if possible and start a conversation with "i've never seen these before, any good?"
