    Default Celestion speaker value(approximate)?.

I wonder if anyone here could give me the approximate value of a 1970's Celestion Alnico G12H-100?. I am contemplating putting a Cannabis Rex into my Fender BJr' and as I have a spare one of the Celestions I wondered if there was a possibility a sale could fund the C-Rex.

they are not alnico speakers. ceramic magnets. not much value to them generally speaking. probably £50 - £75 if you can find a buyer.

Thanks for the replies guys, that is good news as that more or less covers the price of the C-Rex. I thought they were Alnico, is there an easy way to tell the difference?.

the magnet on the back is different. long and cylindrical on the alnicos and wider and slimmer on the ceramics. all 'greenbacks' are ceramic.

    celestion alnico:

sometimes they have bell shaped covers over the top.

    celestion ceramic:

the black circular part is the actual magnet.

As I can see from the photos it is most definitely a ceramic. Thanks for the explanation. Do you have any idea what market the G12H-100's were aimed at?.

guitar or bass I would imagine. I think they came in the early 80's marshall cabs for a short time. '1982' model cabs i think.
