possibly wrong place, but..posting pictures?

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I don't know where else to put it.

How do you attach pictures within posts? I see some threads with pictures that are of a decent size, but the only way I can see how to do it myself, is with the attachments button, but I have to resize my pictures really small so that you can hardly see anything, so as to fit in with the file size requirements.

Am I missing something?

Yeah, I have an Imgur account which I use for several pictures. But...single pictures?

The image above came from imgur. All I did was find the photo I wanted, then right-clicked on it and selected 'view image info' (I'm using Firefox, but you'll have something similar in other browsers) - this gave me the link to the image, in this case it was 'http://i.imgur.com/hoDOY.jpg'. If you paste that link with [IMG] at the beginning and [/IMG] after, it will make the image appear in the forum as per above.

You can also just click on the postcard icon (4th from the right) when typing your post and then just paste the image URL in there and it will put the IMG tags around for you.

You're welcome ! Incidentally, you can do the same with Youtube videos, by putting the video code inbetween [y outube] and [/y outube] (minus the spaces after the 'y' !). e.g. for

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57KGak-B_LA&feature=g-vrec&context=G2a3eee6RVAAAAAAAAAw

you would need the code between the 'v=' and the '&feature' - in this case it would be '57KGak-B_LA'.
