This is what I was driving at - as jal says most places we'd play the only sound reinforcement is what we'd bring.

Also take your point jak about being rooted to the spot. That said, the pub stages round here you're lulcky to have space for your amp and BOTH feet . . .

I shall try tiltage first, but then I realised I have 2 12" full range PA drivers that could be slapped in a box or boxes . . . don't Maplin do a self-contained amp black box for such purposes ?
    Red ones are better.

Always used to use beer crates/chairs, but the tilted amp stand sounds great - might get one.

I just bought myself one of these ... clicky
Can't tell you what it does for the sound / projection yet as it doesn't get its 1st gig till saturday. But my amp does look rather fetching wearing it

I bought one from Beagle, and it's made things much easier onstage.
It's something else to carry in from the car, mind ...

    I'm such an idiot,

I always used to wonder why my band's guitarists used to complain about not hearing themselves, until I realised the nature of the instrument.

as per my ASAS thread, just got one of these for £25, it works fine and dandy - road tested last night, and folds away to nothing.

Look at the two metal things Fender stick on the Twins that let them tilt. Pretty sure someone could supply you with a pair then you could fit them to your Marshall.

I wouldn't dream of playing a gig or a rehearsal with the amp at floor level. A pointless exercise.

    I usually put the JC120 on a 4x12 or a hard chair.
