    Default BIMM Drum Course Audition

Hi guys I've got an assessment for a drum course at BIMM, coming up in a few weeks and was just wondering if anyone here has had one before? I'm confident in my ability but I've pretty much taught myself everything I know and because I want to get on the course so bad I'm extremely nervous about it.

I was just wondering if anyone has done it in the past and what it consists of?

    Thanks

Haven't done the drum one, but I really wouldn't worry. I'd just practice rudiments, a bit of basic music theory etc.

Play the most complicated piece you can play Comfortably and perfectly. Don't play anything that being nervous could cause you to mess up at all.

The only thing that matters when auditioning for BIMM is your parents bank balance. Don't worry, seriously

Hi buddy! Have you done your assessment yet? I did mine about a month ago and I got offered the place. If you've not done it yet you've got nothing to worry about mate. Being flashy isn't that important, if at all. Just keep what you play in time and I'm sure you'll get in. As a fellow drummer attending BIMM this year drop me a pm! It would be cool to keep in touch as I'm moving from Kent to Brighton to do this course.

Good luck if you've not done it yet!

    I remember previous discussions...

I went to the ACM for a year, and had a similar "bums-on-seats" experience - as a mature student, I paid for myself and stuck it out, while the drop-out rate among the "yoof" was over 50%...
