    Default Warwick 3.2 Bass Head

I'm thinking of getting one of these, but I can't find much user comments on the web.

    Anyone used one?

How are Warwick bass amps in general? I'm looking for a deep, warm punchy sound for country/rock.

I've played various warwick heads and they've all been pretty decent. Even the cheaper end ones were ok. quite punchy but also can put a bit of a growl on if its tweaked correctly!

Mate's got a big Warwick combo and it's a formidable thing. It's a working amp that has a go at most things without actually being a "personality" amp. Which can be exactly what you want from a bass amp in my opinion.

I thought they were pretty good. I tried the 500W Pro-Fet thing in a shop. It was nice.

Do have a look at a Mark Bass Little Mark 2 though. VERY light and you can get all manner of sounds with the Vintage Speaker Emulator and the variable pre-shape control.

I can go from super clean slap to thick low 1960s with a twist of the knob. All my EQ is actually flat and I just adjust those speacilist controls.

    it is ace.

    I think it's a tie between a ProFet 3.2 and an Ashdown MAG300.

The Warwick has a built in compressor.

    The Ashdown is white.

I think I'm leaning towards the Ashdown, an maybe one of those funky looking compressor pedals they make.

    Is it a new Ashdown?

The old UK built ones have a great reputation and the later far east built ones... generally do not enjoy quite as good a reputation.

A new one I presume - the white-faced MAG300 heads that's quite widely available. Is the diminished reputation to do mostly with reliability or sound quality?

    It is mighty purdy though.

I think the very new ones are ok generally.

The 'middle' ones got a nickname of 'Crashdown' on various websites.

I used to have an original red front MAG400H - UK built. It was very nice indeed and I liked the sound too.

Couldn't get on with the weight of their cabs though.

I've got one of these, Not sure about what level this comes in at, but Im chuffed to bits with the tone. Build quality seems great too, although I've not been gigging too much since Iv got it.
