Accepts note input from a midi device. So, play your midi keyboard for the notes OR Chords you want to sing, and it will handle it. I have found that it generally can keep up until you get a 7 or 8 note chord going and then there is some latency in a live situation. If you were syncing up with your digital recording studio with a midi out channel, you should have more latitude
