    Cool Give me a boost.........

    Pedal board currently goes:

George Dennis Wah> Behringer Compressor> Ibanez TS-7 (to be replaced with Maxon OD-808 into Amp. I'll be adding an A/B box for silent tuning once I build it!

Boss modelled Chrous, Flanger, Reverb & Delay are on the Amp (Roland).

I'd like to add a boost in the chain - purely for a slight volume increase or at times a little gain maybe, so what option would be best:

    EQ Pedal
    Clean Boost Pedal (any suggestions?)

Lastly where in the chain should it go, assume after the compressor?

Zoom Power Driver - does a bit of overdrive too, but turn the dirt to 0 and you have a great boost with tone controls.

Sporky - thanks for that, i've never come accross that pedal before, can't even find it on the Zoom website, so guess it's a discontinued one (has the manual on line though).
Found on-line (MB Music Limited) for £50 plus £1.18 postage! Worth a punt I reckon.

Couple on ebay as well, ex demo £50 or offer, another 4 a used oen at £10 currently, last one on the bay sold for £19.99

    Thanks again oh wise one......

They tend to go for around £35-40 I think, so £50 for a new one isn't too bad. I have one and quite like it, but it doesn't get that much use simply because I don't really do "boost". Just found one cheap and thought it'd be nice to fill out the collection.

Suspect it'll be the bay of evil, i'll try and nab the secondhand one, or if not make an offer on the "display" one on there.

The Marshall BB-2 Bluesbreaker pedal has a clean boost mode and is only about £40 new.

Doh............why don't I use my brain more...............compressor can be good for a clean boost.

Nothing says you can't have two compressors right!

as long as it's not set to be too compressy - which would alter the sound and feel a lot.

I'd audition a olde-fashionde treble booster : they can help the sound 'step forward' without being an intrusive full-range boost
    Red ones are better.

    I use a Boss GE-7 EQ for a boost.

It's cool because dedicated boosters pride themselves on not colouring your sound but when I boost for a solo or whatever I like to boost the treble and mids.

You can do what you like with it and the potential volume hike is massive if you get lairy with the controls.

The Marshall Bluesbreaker 2 does the trick for me, it was one of my least stupid pedal investments.
