FS: 1997/8 "Crafted in Japan" '54 reissue Fender Stratocaster

I am offering a beautiful Japanese Strat which was one of the very first "Crafted in Japan" models. Its serial number dates it as a 1997/8 model. This is one of the "mystery" models which Fender Japan put together for Japanese retailers but found its way outside Japan. It has a 21-fret '54 deluxe neck with a subtle V profile at the headstock end which evens out to a C shape up at the dusty end. It has slotted vintage-style machineheads. The "Crafted in Japan" motif is stamped on the back of the next at the heel.

The body is a '62 with a slightly sparkly metallic red finish. All of the plastic parts apart from the pickguard and vibrato arm tip are slightly aged with a faint yellow tinge. The pickups have staggered pole-pieces. It's in great condition with only a few dings on the body. The worst is shown in the photo album.

This is a sweet-sounding Strat but I only bought it for certain songs and now it's just sitting in its gig-bag waiting to be played. It's a shame for such a nice guitar to be neglected so it's up for sale. I'm looking for around £375 plus shipping. If you prefer to collect then I'm in South Manchester. This will be cash only as I want to fund a new purchase although I am open to a Laney VC30 plus cash.
