Default would you p/x your squier cv tele for a vintage lemon drop?

was just visiting swindon today,to find an xbox mark 1 (to play project gotham racing 2 on/no xbox live to download update to my 360).
anyhoo i went to kempsters & sons to buy some guitar strings/fast fret. as i was there i thought i'd just browse the guitars that they had (and dream
anyway i have been interested in a vintage lemon drop guitar ever since i heard about them.i have never seen one in the flesh though (until today).
i will tell you that i didn't play it (i know) ,i just picked it up but i was smitten with it to be honest.it looked really well made.
as i play mainly rush covers (well attempt any way i am thinking about doing the deed (also would like to go to a 24 3/4" scale/humbuckers).
i would like to say though that the tele is a great guitar.the only thing is that i have to get it serviced as the 2 highest strings are sitar noting) this has been the case since i got it.i am going to take it to the shop i bought it from for them to sort it out (am just lazy).
anyway i would very much like people's opinion on this, would be interested in what you think.
i have a lovely vintage lemon drop guitar

I have had both and they are both great guitars. Get the squier sorted out first (better still have a read on setting up guitars and do it yourself as it is pretty straight forward).

If you do decide to go ahead with a swap make sure you play the Lemon Drop as their quality control varies massively. Mine was superb but a couple of others I tried had terrible frets and really dodgy nuts

The out of phase middle sound is nice. As said earlier I've played a nice one and a dog of a one, try before you buy. Why not put a sc sized humbucker in your tele?

Could also get the pick guard off, have a nose to check if the front pickup is routed for a humbucker. (pretty sure it is on the cv) new guard a tenner pre-routed from axesrus plus whatever you find here on the classifieds for a neck pickup.
Easy enough to do and completely reversible.

I've had the plate off mine and they are bucker routed.

Vintage LPs are great, but I wouldn't swap my CV for one.

I always favoured cherry drops myself, I accidentally swallowed whole the first lemon drop I ever had so it rather put me off

Given the choice between a tele (any kind) and a lemon drop in decent nick I'd have the latter any day.
