so......with my VOX Clyde McCoy, where should my buffer be? - before or after it...

As far as I know (not having used one and it being a long time since I looked inside one!), if it's an 847 it's not true bypass and so if you want no tone suck, the buffer needs to go before it - but this might make the wah sound less good - and if it's an 848 it is true bypass, in which case the buffer should definitely go after it.

isn't there a clean boost in the cae wah? presumably it could be used as a buffer

Since the pedal is true bypass, the clean boost will only be on when the wah is. When the wah is off, no buffering.

Sounds good Kev! Like I said in my text, need to get over for a few jars, bring my new guitars and have a catch up with you and Elaine!

Could always use the buffer in the M5? Or get a Boss pedal on there, that way you get a free effect with the buffer!

get yourself a Klonn buffer from ebay and stop worrying about it!
It will make a big difference, and you'll have a better signal path.
I tried a few, and this was the best I'd found.
buffers in pedals really aren't the same, as you have to put them where the effect works best.
stick the Klonn right at the beginning of the chain and forget it!

    then play

Everything works best (ignoring mojo-nonsense at least ) with the inputs and outputs of each stage properly buffered.
    You're with stupid. ▲
