    You're not using it as a volume pedal though, you're using it as an expression pedal for the Voodoo Vibe. You need to choose it based on what the impedance requirement of the VV is. I thought your question was a more general "why are there two kinds of volume pedal?" .

    The Voodoo Vibe is also not true bypass - unless Roger Mayer has bowed to the fashion nonsense for it, which I can't really see as being likely. It is mechanically switched but it's fully buffered.

    Yes it was a general question, with a specific application Response very much appreciated - I'm a sponge for technical knowledge. What I wouldn't give to go back to college and this time study Music with Electronic Engineering (and maybe a Building Trades subsid - to keep the wife happy !)
