Default Another Wah Question (those ones with side switches, ie CAE)

Still thinking about a new wah, and the CAE looks interesting, but those side switches would mean I'd have to have it off board....so more than likely it'd get taken to gigs in a case or bag along with a load of other stuff (leads, RCD, extension cable etc etc).

Those little switches just look a bit vulnerable on the side.

Any CAE wah owners out there who can comment on the robustness of the switches?

I just got one last week - awesome wah!

I'm a lefty with my wah, therefore when mine is on my board at the far left, the switch I have least access to is the one that changes which fasel inductor from red to yellow (crybaby to Vox) therefore I'm ok with that as I doubt I'd change that mid-song. I just gotta mind change it between songs if need be.

The switch on the left is for the volume boost, which again, I will either have on or off for a whole song, so I'm not kicking it halfway through a tune (the volume boost cant be used separately, so is only active when the wah is switched on - just in case you never knew)

Most of the time, i only wah during a solo, so again, there are no songs I play that I need to be kickcing the swithes on/off, for the wah to be unity volume at one part, then louder for the solo.

In terms of robustness, they feel fine and only need very little pressure to be activated - kinda like a clicky pen top? It's the only thing I can think of relating it to at the moment. They only need a soft kick to be activated

The whole thing is built like a tank - except for those two switches. They are soldered to the board so not trivial to replace either. So far so good though.....

    Sounds cool though!!

Hmmm, that would worry me. I know they've tried to keep these as per the classic crybaby format, but those switches do seem to be in a silly location.

Not that I'm planning on really chucking it about or anything, but as it won't be on my board it's a risk.

I tend to never use the little side switches. I don't use the boost at all and just pick the yellow or Red setting and leave it there.

I've had my CAE wah for a while now and haven't really bonded with it so will probably trade it for something else.
