Ahh, okay. I came to that via a thread on gearpages about this same issue and someone had posted that - clearly misread it the same as me.

There's a youtube clip of someone using mu metal ( specialist shielding foil I think) to try to solve the problem as far as I can see. I can't do youtube from here so only know what the first line on google says.

    No worries.
Have you considered it might be an issue with your PP2+ or perhaps a cabling problem?

Not saying it is, just in troubleshooting mode and trying to rule things out.

If it's possible physically, try turning the power supply on its side or rotating it through 90 degrees. Electromagnetic hum like this is directional, and if you can get the two coils at right angles to each other, no hum will be transferred - just as if you turn round while holding a single-coil guitar, there will usually be a spot where the hum stops. Whether it works here will depend on the orientation of the transformer core in the power supply.

I had one once - it sounded TERRIBLE. (Although I don't think those were my *exact* words in the 'for sale' ad...)
    Red ones are better.

    Understood.

If I keep my larger board I could both rotate it 90deg and move it further away, but if I downsize I have one option only (the under board mounting brackets) . iirc the PP2+ has a torroidal transformer

this isnt trumpet blowing............. but if that doesnt work, perhaps a good reason to use a 'diago a like' and gig-rig distributor ? Mount the distributor block only on the board with necessary wiring, and keep the 'power' gubbins separate ..........hence no interference ?

    just a thought

I moved from a switchmode supply because of noise issues that are cured with isolated outputs. If I did ever go back to a basic switchmode supply I'd just use a daisychain rather than the Distributor. But then I'd also need 2 of the high capacity virtual batteries too (the regular ones don't pass enough current for a Strymon).

Got one of those plates...you are advised to use the existing cover too.

I've had problems...worst of all is my Fulltone CD!
These days, my wah is optional and goes on the floor

Edit: board is a PT2 and power is a PP2+

ahaa OK........... the only thing I assumed would help you is the ability to have the 'transformer' bit well away from the pedals, even with a daisy chain, you'd need the actual PSU bit on the board ? (or do they make daisy-chains with long lead (as in bleed) in cables ?)
