Seems pretty well-seasoned and a decent colour tbh, but I confess I'm not a wood expert. Nice oiled finish though and it looks very solid and well made.

The doors I linked to are oak veneer, but really nice solid doors with thick veneer. No warping there, well not in the 5 years i've had them installed.

Well B& Q arranged for the manufacturers to come out and inspect the doors. They havent had the full report yet but have spoken to the inspectors and have offered me a refund for the doors but not for the fitting because they "were fitted incorrectly" cos there was more than the recommended amount taken from the top/bottom of the doors!!!!!
Quit how this would affect the door cross members situated at the middle and the one a foot from the top is beyond me????

Thinking I should tell them to poke it and start a court claim

I'd be refusing to pay your carpenter or, if you've already paid him, show him the inspector's report and insist he fits the replacements for free. If he refuses, start a claim against him. It's not B&Q's or the manufacturer's fault so why should they pay?

Think yr missing the point - I dont think the fitting of the doors has anything to do with them warping you can see 1/2 the B&Q stock that they have on display is already warped before its sold. and anyway the doors wouldnt fit the hole though if you didnt take that amount off them.............

It doesnt address the fact that they are warped and not fit for purpose.................anyway the replacement doors would be of the same shite quality

thing is if there is a recommended amount you can shave off the top and bottom(and with those type there usually is) and your carpenter has exceeded that then the argument is with him.. first job the manufacturer person will do is measure, if more has been taken off then suggested its the carpenters fault.

The point is, you paid X for doors and Y for fitting.

The doors were poorly manufactured, the manufacturer has accepted that and offered to refund you X.

The inspector also pointed out that they were fitted badly, so you have some ammunition with which to request a refund for Y from the carpenter. It's not about whether that fitting would have caused the problem or not, the manufacturer might claim that you had the doors fitted when they were already warped - your word against theirs.

Carpenters fault, should have checked the doors, should have checked the measurents of everything before he started. ie Measure twice cut once he knows this.

The manufacturers are saying that that cutting more than recommended off the top and bottom of the doors has resulted in them warping across the middle - that doesnt make any sense to me. The other thing is that if the chippie hadnt cut that amount off the doors they wouldnt have fekin fitted at all..........the "allowed" tolerances are that small!

For the sake of an easier life, I guess I should accept the offer of refund for the doors and never darken B&Q's doors again

It does piss me orf though - cunts they are! and its not been helped by the obnoxious porridge gobbler service centre staff who all have been on that training course of "lets make your accent even less understandable so as to really fuck with any complainers"
