I wonder if he'd give me that and £350 for my Stingray. I'd like a black one.

    Ask him!

Then get a Status neck for it (they do one) and it will be amazing.

The status neck on a MM is getting more popular. Really makes a 'ray sing.

    Default G&L L-2000 Tribute

Great entry level, tone is variable, the feel is excellent, better than any current Mexican or Korean Fenders, being as it's made and designed by the original Fender people.

    Cheers.

    FWITW,
we bought my son a Yamaha BB604, which he loved, but last year we saw a SUB at a bargain price. Combined with the fact that they were due to stop making them, we had to GAS!

Have you considered Spector basses? I've been playing Warwick, Yamaha, and Fender over the years, and my current Spector Custom is without doubt the best bass I've played - both in terms of action, playability ... and if I dare I say it ... looks .

They have a huge range of basses, covering all price ranges - for that money you could pick up one of the better Euro models. Worth a pick-up-and-play in your local music shop anyway ...

    Hi Andy

Yeah, at that price range, try everything out thoroughly. I dunno what playing level you're at but if you can have someone along with you who's more experienced that would be a good idea....

A very excellent bass indeed. I could spoil it for you by revealing I once borrowed said bass to play some Whitesnake at the old B&B jam nights.

    But I won't.
