    Default My First Bass

I'm never happy with synthesized basslines, so I'm thinking about getting a bass (I play(hahaikillme) guitar so am happy to teach meself). Would only be used plugged into pooter, not live. Ain't got a lot of cash for this (is a bit of a luxury), so should I just pop to Argos or do you have any recommendations?

An OLP or Vintage stingray copy, on account of they're stingray copies. And a Behringer BDI21 for the recordings thereof.

Bloody knew you'd be the first to reply.

My electric is a Vintage - been going now for about 15 years (granted tho its just given up the ghost). Guess a trip to Argos will do it after all!

(PS as our paths keep crossing, I'd value your input on the track I've posted in the Music Lounge sir! )

I should point out (if it's not obvious) that I have a serious Stingray fetish. I'm vaguely aware that other basses exist but don't see a point to them.

Squier basses tend to be fine, fine things,so long as you like Fender style basses.

    So deluded.

Status are the only basses. Everything else is just... a tribute.

No, I'm pretty sure it was MM who invented the Stingray.

Well, the first one probably wasn't maple/black/black, so you're right as far as that goes.

    Never.

Not true: Fender Jazz. The perfect bass. The epitome of ęsthetic and ergonomic achievement.

Oh, and Statuses may be good basses but...they are so ugly!!!

    Soz Paul!
