Okey dokey - for sale/trade is my Gibson Custom Shop Historic Reissue R0 (1960)
Basically, this is the same as a R9 with a slightly slimmer neck and different tops. Like Beano? This is for you.
It's from 2007 and is a belter of a guitar. Everyone that plays it loves it and when gigging I regularly got comments both on its tone and the way it looks. So here goes :
It's a 2007 R0 and comes with all the case candy (certificate, strap, tags, etc). It however does not have the original case. Anyone that's had one of these guitars will know that the cases are crap and made of pressed cardboard and are easily broken. I replaced mine almost immediately (due to it being damaged and crap) with a proper flight case by Hiscox.
The guitar itself i used. I'm not going to lie and say it's mint, etc. It's slightly bashed and far from "showroom" condition. However, it looks ace and all the bashes, etc (in my opinion) look cool. I've replaced the plastics with aged fat boy parts and added alongside the bumped body and the slightly faded top - it looks the dogs! Few bumps round the edges and surface buckle rash (not through colour) on the back sums it up.
Electronics have all been changed and it currently has Seymour Duncan Anitiquities in both the bridge and neck. The pots are all CTS premiums and the caps were WD's own brand premiums (expensive at £11 each!).
The jack socket cover was broken so I fabricated a metal replacement and the Klusons were professionally swapped for Grovers.
A year after I got the guitar I sent it to Chandlers to be re-plek'd and everything since then has been done by John @ JXG Guitars in Newcastle. It plays like a dream straight out the box.
Cash-wise I'm after as close to £2k as possible. The only used R0 currently available in the UK is over £4k so you're getting a bargain.
Trade-wise......hit me. I can only say no. Part-ex's are welcome.
