Plenty of room for bats, in fact it's down at Henlow at the moment on another golf foray. I wasn't actually playing, I'd been to a navigation competition on Saturday down at Haverfordwest in deepest Walesland (which I won amazingly enough) and they had said lunch would be provided at Rosemarket golf course just north of Milford Haven.

I was a little confused as to how we would get there, and was even more confused when they said 'Fly there.'

They had put a little wind sock at the end of the par five leading to the clubhouse and that was the runway. It was also the shortest transit I've ever done, a whole three minutes from taking off at Haverford to landing at Rosemarket.

If I'd known I would have taken the bats and had a quick nine holes.

Get yourself a Pooley's flight guide [the family were clients of mine for a few years - they were also into ballooning] - there are plenty of golf courses in the UK and France you can fly to, have a game, a spot of lunch and fly home.

Got the Pooley's, every club has one! Robert Pooley hit on a good thing actually; all of the info in Pooley's is freely available, he just had the nounce to put it all together in a book. The French have a similar product called the Delage.
