    Default Removing velcro from pedals?

What's the best way of getting velcro off the bottom of pedals without causing damage, stripping paint etc.? I never use a pedalboard, but have a few nice pedals which I always use, and I'm thinking now might be a good time to put them on a board. However, I keep my stuff in good condition, and have always hated the idea of sticking velcro on the bottom. Now though, I'm just coming round to the idea that it's probably the best solution after all, and I've considered others such as the bike chain links.

I know many will say what does a bit of missing paint on the bottom matter, but that's for another discussion. I might go ahead with this if I can be sure of restoring my pedals to their original state with no damage.

    Thanks!

Peel off the rubber from the bottom of the pedal then stick the velcro on.

To remove, use a hairdryer to warm the velcro glue then use lighter fluid to clean any remnants.

    Sorted!

You may not be able to restore your pedals to their original state if you do decide to remove the velcro.....
The conductor said I could get my bookbag and run around the hallway with it.

Can you say why not? I could stick any rubber feet back on or get new ones, and if there are any paper labels on the bottom I could stick velcro strips either side....

Once the velcro is on leave it on then you wont damage the said pedal .
I'd guess that 50% or more people use velcro, and of the pedals I have bought off eBay the ones that were in the worse condition were the pedals that had the screws removed at one point or another (to use the screw method of board fixing) , the main problem was damaged screw threads or missing screws . The other method is to use tie wraps which I dont like because they arent as easy to move around as the velcro method .

Allicio, do you mean this stuff....and you can peel it off even though it holds the pedals securely?

....or maybe use Electricfurnace's hairdryer/lighter fluid idea....

How do people put Velcro on pedals with rubber bases? My Joyos and my Hardwire have rubber bottoms and the underside of the Velcro doesn't stick to them. Is there any way to deal with that?
My name is Connor and I have a GAS problem.

I also have some videos of myself playing guitar. Here they are.

I've heard of people flipping the baseplate over, not sure if you can do that with Joyos or Hardwires though.

Some pedals seem to take velcro better than others. I've never yet stripped any paint off when removing velcro, just a bit of sticky residue which will clean off.On eBay it generally seems to be seen as a postive that a pedal already has velcro on.

When putting the velcro on make sure the bottom of the pedal is clean ( I've got some builders wipes) or it won't stick properly. In one or two cases I've had to pack out the bottom of the pedal with bits of card and tape to create a flat surface and stick the velcro to that.I have tried the flipping the base over thing but that's never worked any better on any brand of pedal and won't actually work at all on most.

A board where you can use cable ties ( as mentioned) would mean you can avoid velcro. I think if you are gigging with a pedal board then it will just suffer some wear and tear of which a bit of a sticky bottom might be the least of your worries.
