We're with the AA. Have been for a few years after a bad experience with the RAC (the details of which I can't actually recall now).

Used them a few times and they're great, but each year we do have to haggle over the renewal fee as they always try to charge us more than a new customer could get!

I've been with the AA for a few years now but that will be changing when the renewal comes up (next month I think) for a couple of reasons.

    1. Due to initial heavy discounts (75% when I signed up) the full cover has gone up from about £60 to £250. Oddly the heavy discounts are often still available for new members.

    2. The constant phone calls along the lines of "do you want to add x to your policy? If you say no or claim to have it from elsewhere I'll spend the next 10 minutes explaining why you're wrong and also imply that you are lying".

Can't be arsed with them any more.

Me too. I pay £15 a month and get phone insurance, RAC cover, worldwide travel insurance and some other stuff I've forgotten.

through two experiences, one personal (mrs bert) and one a friend - avoid green flag like the plague. THey are the 'Yodel' of the breakdown cover companies

Remember (like most cheap things) cheap cover = false economy
