I was a-wonderin' if anyone here knows how I could get the keyboard sound from the Strangler's 'No More Heroes'. I've got Native Instrument's B4 VSTi if that could be tweaked - or is it too far out for that ?
Also, how could I get a decent tenor sax out of a vsti / sampler ? Where should I start looking - and what for ! Specifically, I'm trying to get the sound of the sax in 'Rat Trap' by the Boomtown Rats.
You'll no doubt gt a variety of answers, but I've found the saxes in Sampletank 2 to be pretty expressive and well capable of raunchiness with the right MIDI programming (though you might need to mix and match two or more patches depending on the variety of tones/expression in your sax part).
I was tired when I wrote that last night. 'No more heroes' isn't a bloody hammond, it's an electric piano - a wurly maybe ? I'll have a poke around in Lounge Lizard and see if I can recreate it.
