Default Why is it so hard to drive in socks?

You'd think you'd be more sensitive with the pedals, but it's like I've got diving boots on. I'm stuck in stop-start traffic on the M4 by Bath and I might have to put my shoes back on as I can't stop doing mini emergency stops from 4mph. If this keeps up, I might even have to put the banjo down as well.

It's because your feet know you are breaking the law.

It's really strange riding a motorcycle without big thick armoured gloves on too...

Before other bikey types panic I was only moving it from one end of the road to the other so my mechanic could get better access when he came to work on it... 100 yards or so... felt like riding a bicycle

I never had a problem driving in bare feet, never tried it in socks. Could imagine my foot slipping off the clutch with socks on.

I drive in socks all the time as I cant wear shoes at all anymore. Does take a bit of getting used to. I have loads of pairs of socks now with grippy bottoms, never had problem with slippage on pedals or such.

I always drive in socks - I used to wear safety boots and whatnot that I couldn't get used to driving in, so I started then and preferred it

And all of this is worthy of sharing with the entire planet using the worlds most powerful communication medium?

Sorry if I'm failing to see the interest level here, and forgive my apparent flippancy if this is indeed important to some...
