Anyone use K and K pickups for acoustic, and do you use a preamp with them ?

I have one on my Brook Lyn and use it with a Baggs pre
I do not really use it in anger but they are good, and are highly thought of.
Acoustic Forum associated withe the Acoustic UK Mag has a lot of serious players contributing and the K&K are popular there

I have the Pure Western Mini fitted to a Brook Torridge (000), Brook Teign (dreadnaught) and Ramirez classical. Done plenty of gigs with each and they've always worked great. Usually I run straight from the guitar into an AER Alpha. Once or twice I put an LR Baggs Venue DI in the middle, but sold that unit as it didn't really make much difference (the tuner and boost options were nice tho).
I'd really recommend the K&Ks, and will put one in any future acoustics I have.

I don't use K&K stuff myself but the hot tip for a really well-matched preamp is the Orchid...

Brilliant quality, UK made. The full acoustic preamp has all the EQ but the plain DI box is also supposed to sound superb with a K&K.
