I don't get the love for these amps. They're ugly*, don't sound very good*, not amazingly reliable, and are a bit of a pain to work on. They can easily cost more to service and make usable than they're actually worth. I've never seen one with JBLs, but the usual stock speakers are crap and often blow.
*OK, these things are a matter of taste I suppose, and they do have a certain retro-cool late-60s/early-70s vibe about them, but the sound is not like a 'classic' valve guitar amp at all (unless clean) - the overdrive is an odd farty/buzzy/edgy almost solid-state-like distortion, and the reverb sounds like a tin dustbin falling down a well.
Good for early Pink Floyd and spaghetti western sounds, but not a lot else. In my opinion of course
