    £200-300 depending on condition.

As ever when buying an old amplifier you need to be aware it may need quite a bit of work to get it serviceable.

there's been a surprising amount on ebay lately. maybe four in the last couple of months, each labelled "incredibly rare"

there's also a chassis that went yesterday i think.

£235 for the last (tatty) 2x12, £90 for the chassis, £157 for a single speaker.

don't forget being in London can put the price up

I'm told to avoid amps that have bad sliders - apparently is quite hard to get replacements in the right physical size and value.

got given one but had to have it serviced which cost £180 then £30 to get it home via taxi

everything on it works apart from one of the power lights the bulb has gone and its missing the sound city logo plate

I think I shall but it on the classifieds tomorrow for £210 as I just want to get my money back on it

I didnt want to see it get skipped which is what was going to happen

    Noble, even .

I don't get the love for these amps. They're ugly*, don't sound very good*, not amazingly reliable, and are a bit of a pain to work on. They can easily cost more to service and make usable than they're actually worth. I've never seen one with JBLs, but the usual stock speakers are crap and often blow.

*OK, these things are a matter of taste I suppose, and they do have a certain retro-cool late-60s/early-70s vibe about them, but the sound is not like a 'classic' valve guitar amp at all (unless clean) - the overdrive is an odd farty/buzzy/edgy almost solid-state-like distortion, and the reverb sounds like a tin dustbin falling down a well.

Good for early Pink Floyd and spaghetti western sounds, but not a lot else. In my opinion of course .

Well i just tried MEhelper's amp and the reverb is nice and lush. i like to look and i like spaghetti Western sounds would be great if it had a little dirt, i don't know if that's an easy mod.
