    Default WTB: Boss GT-5

Has to be in the good old 'full working order'.
Not really interested in other versions.
Anyone got one surplus to their requirements?

Cheers for the pointer , though I'd seen it and unforunately it was collection only.
I see he's relisted it again, too..

So why the GT-5 and no others? Is there some particular special feature the 5 has that the others don't? I do love my GT-3, so nice to have lots of experimental sounds in one box.

I'm wondering that...I used to have a GT-5 myself and gigged it regularly for a few years...never got on with the GT-6 the same - for me with that one i couldn't get rid of a fuzzyness to the drives no matter how hard I tried, yet I heard some awesome demos online with it that didnt seem to have that. Then I had the 8 after that for a while which was good, then the 10 came out n I've had that since..just sold that n now getting the GT-100 next week! I like the GT's as I have quite a history with 'em...but (at last and finally getting to my point!) the GT-5 I heard had analogue drives and digital amp models (cosm amps) not sure if that was true when I read of it but if so this could perhaps be his reasons?

That all said though i'm more into single stomps for a live band - I don't mind the FX in the GTs but I HAVE to have analogue drives..I cant bear digital models in a loud live band sound...never sounded authentic to my ears.

    Hi,
A couple of gigging pals who've both used the 3 and 5 both heartily recommended the 5 above the 3 and after I played through one of their 5's I just loved the distortion modes... from Page back pu screech to front pu Clapton 'Womantone' all on one distortion setting.... of course it was going through a Marshall stack...
They might find the extra preset pedal on the 5 useful, live...
That said, I have read that the 3 has analogue fx and the 5 doesn't...but I can't get to compare them and I know the 5 sounds good, so.....
