Right, an update:

Swami (the guy whos gig it is ) has potentially got someone lined up, he is awaiting confirmation of this.

Unfortunately, it means I cannot confirm anything until we hear back from them.... so please bare with it. Shall keep you posted.

maybe we can do an exchange btw. There's a garage rock band I play with occasionally and they need a drummer for a gig in 12-bar club denmark street, for friday the 7th sept, early 1/2 hour set, 8:15pm

swap one session for another maybe? you do them a favour i do you one?

Ok, here's a quick remix i knocked up, it's rufus ruffcut stylee.



IMPORTANT: I mixed it quickly so it sounds best blasting out of speakers LOUD, like a live-mix balance. It doesn't sound so good on headphones, so try it on speakers loud if possible, then it all blends together better..






ok first the traditional musicians pre "check-this-ting-I-did" excuses:

1. it's got a few mistakes, it's not really flowing yet, but i dont practice unless i have a session, and last picked up a bass like a year ago, so give it a week or 2 to get the blisters hard and free up the flow and it'll tighten up alot.

2. the bass strings haven't been changed for 5 years, i used an old bass i keep around the house for jamming, lol, the bass was fed direct into Logic bass amp modeller, so not the best sound.

3. it's the first bassline that came into my head, can be changed

4. no overdubs or time-correcting done, it's a one-take ruff ting


Anyways gives u an idea what i do. I have to say, the drums need solid-ing up really to get more flow, hence i added a basic Ultrabeat internal pattern drum beat from the hiphop kit.

i've pushed it more towards a hiphop thumping beat and away from the rock-feel on the drums, gives it more groove live thru a massive PA.
