My Boss
I've never come across such an unprofessional, foul mouthed, unorganised, filthy idiot in all my life. The only reason he hasn't already gone out of business is because the people who work for him want to keep their job so it's basically the employee's keeping the business from crumbling. I've only been working for him since last June and I'm already looking for other jobs.

Your sentence does not make a conclusive statement. ie what about the employees who are keeping the business from crumbling. The correction of your "correction"states that an employee is keeping a business from crumbling.

Musophilr is right Chris, it's "employees". Because of the preceeding "the people who work for him want to keep their job". It's plural.
