Wow... the N2202. My sister had one of those. I remember my dad bringing it home and the little leatherette case it had. I was fascinated with it !

Anyway, boiling piss time... Those stupid adolescent twats on motorised scooters. Firstly, my generation wouldn't have been seen dead on the things. If I'd turned up at the local meeting place on one of those, I'd have had my head kicked in - and quite rightly too. They are two-stroke shopping trolleys. They require no skill to operate as they are all automatic (real men use clutches).

Apart from the vehicle itself, my piss is boiled most by the spotty tossers riding them - half an inch from your bumper, with their spotty mates either side, all of them pathologically blipping the throttles and manically looking everywhere except at the fucking road, like some kind of ADHD kid after a carrier-bag full of Haribo and a gallon of Red Bull.

The number of times I've had a swarm of them on my arse and spent a few brief moments seriously contemplating whether I could get away with slamming my brakes on, causing them all to end up head first through my rear screen... thankfully, sanity wins and I grit my teeth and suffer them.

Why blip the throttle ? Why drive up my arse ? - the moment I change into second gear, you're just a buzzing fuckwit in the distance.

Oh, and they have ALL got L plates on - every single one of them.

Kill them. Kill them ALL !!

A couple of things that annoy me are:

Music shops that have music playing in the background, and yet they expect people to be able to properly hear the instruments they're trying out.

Musical instrument shops that make you leave your bag at the till. It's like they don't trust me to not put stuff in, even though most of the stuff on display, like guitars and 2X12" cabs, can't fit into the ruddy bag, and yet I'm supposed to trust them to not take stuff out of my bag!

I went to PMT in Manchester today and found out they now have that policy. I nearly didn't go in. I may not buy from them when I do get all the money together to finally buy a guitar. I don't want to reward them for this fundamental lack of trust.

    Another thing:

Those plastic (at least they look plastic to me) tuning machines so many guitar makers fit these days. They're ugly and look and feel so cheap. I was considering an epi 339, but it's got plastic tuners. I've looked for metal ones and they're about £50, and then there's the cost of fitting. Epi put metal ones on their '339 royal' (I think that's what it's called. It's black with a silver scratchplate and sparkly binding) so they do have metal ones, so why the ruddy plastic ones?

Something that confused me when I was in PMT, was the 'fact' that the upper fret access on the 339 that I tried seemed slightly better than on the dot studio I tried! The cutaways(?) seem a bit bigger on the dot than on the 339 so surely it shouldbe the other way around, unless the neck is wider and chunkier at the body?

The 339 actually has an extra fret clear of the body vs the Epi Dot.

As for Tulip tuners, I prefer them on Gibson-types. WAY lighter than Grovers, and anything else looks wrong.
