I prefer tulip tuners too. If i had an LP with the kidney-bean type, I'd swap them out in a heartbeat.

I didn't know you could tune a tulip. Well, you learn something new every day.

Bertie, yes, tuning machines ( to chillidoggy) like kluson tulips. Horrible looking things. and plastic, so no good for clumsy clots like me.

Stickyfiddle, They do? Well I can't count then, 'cos when I got home I googled 339 and dot and I got a pic of each (quite small though) and counted the frets, and I thought they were the same!

The term 'tuning machines' is an god-awful Americanism. Users should be summarily shot. Unless they're British, in which case a rehabilitation programme is advised.

Really Emp, must I do all the hard work?

It has happened again so I'm dischuffed again.

I want to read a book on my Kindle, "Brooklyn Zoo" by Darcy Lockman. I've been checking amazon since about July last year and it's not available on Kindle.

Well yes is f*ing is I find out today but it's not on sale in the UK so it doesn't show up as being available on here or amazon.com if you have UK amazon cookies.

So blah blah got to acquire it using stupid long-winded method. Then got to strip it of DRM so it goes on my Kindle (which involves updating the software and remembering how it all works etc. etc.).

Basically about an hour of aggravation and nonsense to get a book I'd have happily paid for in five seconds.

Cup of tea is in order.

Hashtags do not work anywhere other than Twitter. If you use them anywhere other than on Twitter, you look like a complete moron (especially on Facebook).
