    Exclamation Sub bass help!!

Hey I'm new here and need a little help,

I need a speaker system for under £50 with a sub woofer that will fit in to a rack of
    150mm x 200mm

It will probably have to be a pc speaker system but the sub woofer needs to still have some power... As you can tell I really have no idea

    Hope someone can help
    Thanks In Advance

    I think you'll struggle to find a separate sub-woofer for £50.
Have you looked in the usual places like Currys / PC World .. Maplin .. CPC.. etc?

Yeah I've had a look this is what I have come up with

    "ACTIVE POWERED SPEAKER PAIR 60 WATT 100mm BASS/MID NEW - QJ51F

    ONLY £24.99"

    From maplin

Now no ding new to this I don't think 60 WATT is allot is it?
But it's not ment for giving its like a portable dj rack for tiny events in small rooms, my theory is that some powerful computer speakers with a good subwoofer would do the job, am I correct?

    Thanks for your help

That system you've linked to doesn't have a sub, it's just got two drivers (or speakers) in one box.

A sub w/ satilliete speakers looks like this.

The quality won't be great, but it should do for general listening and computering.

    On a side note:
Wattage isn't really the best way to look at speakers anymore, because of more efficient amplifiers and power handling. Generally, 60watt in old money is a plenty loud, but in new money with smaller speakers isn't anywhere as good.

Most speakers that are similar to the ones you linked aren't bad, but they're more hi-fi in the quality they reproduce. They do take up more space and sometimes require a power amp (labelled as 'passive').
