Default EzeDrummer lite. Don't do it!

    Just remembered this.
About 2 weeks ago I came upon a CM DVD with the above on it. "Ooo! Give that a go" I thought. Well it didn't "go" but then I rarely have any luck with pluggins so I forgot about it.

Last week I was having problems with the PC, slow and sticky so I looked at what I could uninstall. EDL! Right! Out you go!...

A good 5 minutes later I was still scrolling and clicking on ***t in the Register that Revounistaller was finding. Even after that and a reboot, C cleaner found two more entries.

Why do so many seemingly small programs make so much mess? I have uninstalled Samplitude ProX demo and it is huge but it goes in and out like paint!

EZdrummer is shit, and I've posted about it before!
    Even impossible to uninstall.

the thing with ezdrummer is that instead of storing the location of all the midi groove presets in something sensible like a simple text file, it stores each and every one in its own separate registry location, and there are 100s of them for every kit

and they're not installed in their own subfolder either, but all just loose and sloshing around

    its a right messy bastard

When I wanted to removed the shit (EZdrummer 2 I think it was) I had to to use 2 days to remove it manually because there wasn't even an uninstaller provided, and the windows explorer didn't recognised it completely.
Utter shit. Stay away from it (even tho it has some good features and ok sounds.)

I'm very pleased with Mdrummer4 from MeldaProduction today, and recommend that one. Fair priced and life long lincenses with free uppdates and upgrades, so far, and quick responses from support.

So, out of interest, did removing it solve your "slow and sticky" problem?

    Well it probably helped!
Thing is when I get arsed to open up Revouninstalled and look I see other things I have not used in ages and even stuff I can't remember ever installing! So I tend to do a clutch of cleans and then run Ccleaner on the Registry then re-boot. Seemed better, certainly is today.
BTW just spotted something called "NcLMSBTSrv.exe" and something similar in Services.
Turns out to be my new Nokia phone software. Well, I don;t need that on this P4 AND the laptop I thought and quite a chunk of files there was to be rid of to be sure!

WISH! I could stop BT putting up the invitation to the new email stuff. Don't want it!

Understood. There is absolutely no point keeping anything on your machine that doesn't get used. A while back I bought a Novation SL controller. First thing I noticed after installing the software, Automap etc, was I had acquired some proggy called bonjour which seemed to do nothing relevant, so I uninstalled it only top find my controller stopped working.

Anyway, its gone now along with the Novation and I'm back to my trusty old Yam AN1x synth and my mouse, You wouldn't believe how long it took to remove everything Automap related from my machine.

These people must really think they're helping by cluttering up your PC with junk.
