    Exclamation Desktop help?!

Right, i have a very fast computer with good specs but it is slow as hell!
    The specs:
Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium
    7GB DDR3 RAM
    Intel I3 Processor, 3.20 ghz
1 TB of harddrive, 500gb internal, 500gb external drive.
Half of the C drive is clear.
    No known Malware/Spyware/Viruses. Regualy checked.

The computer freezes often, struggles with Flash and Java plugins. Ableton Live constantly "Not Responding" and im quite baffled.
I have ran numerouse virus checks, reinstalled my RAM incase it was that..
    What more can i do?
    Thanks

Have you tried installing your RAM sticks one at a time to see if one of them is faulty?

    And 7GB RAM?

There are so many things that can cause problems and the 2 replies you've already had are good starting points.

First thing I'd be looking at is task manager. See what processes are taking all the CPU resources. If you're running too many antivirus programs etc they can actually conflict with each other, so be careful and try to only have one of each type installed and running.

Secondly look through the software you currently have installed and uninstall anything that's not required. I've seen PCs snided with demo software or the makers software most of which is never used. Get rid if you don't need it.

Then if you're still struggling run msconfig and look what's being run at startup. If there are any bits of software without a description its a fair bet something naughty has got onto your system. Disable it/them and re-boot.

Beyond that you're looking at either hardware issues or a re-install. I had a problem getting guitar rig to run smoothly and resorted to turning stuff off in the BIOS to resolve it.

I hope that may give you a few things to look at and feel free to ask anymore questions.

One thing I should have asked is has this just happened or has it always been like this since new?

    Cheers.
