Come and be my soundman - we buy you drinks and everything

We had a stage invasion one night, I assumed from a drunk, and had the Tele off to lamp him Keef-style. I found out, just in time that the guy had learning difficulties and has a habit of wandering onstage.

You'd think somebody at the venue could have warned us

In all my years of gigging, not once have I seen a soundman get threatened.

No trouble whilst playing other than a bit of banter. Though, this one time, at bandcamp....I mean a pub in Wisbech, we were waiting to play so went to the bar to get a drink and some brute of a woman said "oi, I'm trying to watch the boxing, can you move?". Classy place, is Wisbech.

Ah, Wisbekistan! Glad I've never had to play there...

We played a "festival" there to about 10 people. It started pissing it down, and the stage roof sprang a leak right over my amp.

    Still, we got paid.

Had a stormer in a place that will remain nameless in Brum five or six years ago (really good venue, just happened to have more than its share of wankers in that night) - pretty good crowd, gig going well apart from some ****** shouting abuse at us between every song. He's duly ignored, until a (plastic, I think) bottle flies centimetres from my head and bounces off the drum kit.

I'm wireless, so hop offstage and go over to 'have a word' mid-song; he backs down before I even get to him, I figure job done, turn around to get back onstage. Feel his pint go up my back; before I can even turn around again both guitars have dropped out and the guitarists are offstage heading in his direction at a rate of knots him and his mates get a bit of a pasting, bouncers (who have a) seen this all transpire and b) drink with us on occasion) kick them out, nicey nicey.

The brilliant bit is that these wankers then WENT HOME TO GET THEIR DADS, who were waiting for us when we got outside they too chickened out when they realised that there were five of us, plus half a dozen of our mates, plus bouncers who were clearly on our side...still smile about that to this day.

We had a gig once where, after we'd finished playing and were packing up, some p*ssed up bloke comes up to us and, zooming in on the target of his resentment, told us what a great gig but it was ruined by the drummer, with more than a little hostility towards said drummerist.

Fortunately our drummerisist has broad shoulders (or should I say he has normal sized shoulders but he doesn't give a f*ck what drunk people think of his drumming)...

I still have no idea in what manner he is supposed to have ruined the gig...He's never ruined one yet, nor is he likely to - a more solid drummer you are very unlikely to find.

    That just reminded me.

At the same gig mentioned in the OP some old git sat himself wedged in the corner behind our PA and next to the drum kit and at the interval I heard him say:
"They can play alright but all you can hear is the drums."

Not quite the same, but the last gig we did had a small crowd, but luckily also had 2 very attractive girls (early 20s) dancing throughout every song of both sets. Problem was they were both a bit pi$$ed and insisted on trying to put us off by flashing as much flesh as possible. Th strange thing was after the gig one of their Boyfriends (looked like a right hardcase) came over and appologised for it..

Out poor drummer missed most of it.. He's the only one who never dropped a beat..

I had a few bum notes that night..

Never had any problems other than that.

I find it most interesting that you regard that situation as a "problem". I certainly wouldn't.
