Sandwiched between the Manchester sprawl and the Peaks

Played in a ceilidh band for 10 years between 2000 and 2010 and therefore did our fair share of weddings (Incidentally the only times we had any trouble at our gigs.)
We played at various venues that didn't always have a stage, and we became pretty adept at marking a decent boundary. Only on one occasion the punters got a bit over enthused and danced right into us. One ended up bouncing on the lead for my footswitch, breaking the jack- which cost me a couple of quid to replace.
We played at one fight where a wedding reception broke out, in a village hall in the middle of nowhere- fortunately enough of the punters were making the peace to keep things playable.
I also had a very drunk best man, try to punch me when we were packing up as he thought we should be playing longer- (a kind of back-handed compliment that one)- The groom ended up running round trying to put out fires behind him most of the night- I bet the new mrs was really chuffed with that one...
There have been quite a few fights broken out whilst we've been on stage between punters.... I seem to have missed every one.... We've even been loading out and I'm being told about how 3 coppers turned up and put a stop to it all about 20 feet in front of the stage!
