I've found that a great way to add some balls to the sound of a V30 is to pair it with a G12T-75. The G12T isn't as efficient as the V30, so it's not as loud, but it has a better bottom end (in comparison with the V30's mid-range emphasis) so it rounds it out a bit.

I think the G12T-75 is an unfairly-maligned speaker, myself.

If you can find one I can highly recommend the Bogner Alchemist 2x12 - best sounding cab I've owned, not too heavy and has sounded great with every amp I've paired it with

I don't think it sounds very good on its own, or multiples without mixing with other speakers - I find it thin-sounding, boomy and buzzy - but it does work well in pairs with more middy-sounding ones.

It's not *that* bad though, I agree - it still sounds better than most non-Classic series Celestions. It's also a very good upgrade for cheap solid-state amps since it's inherent loose sound goes some way to make the amp sound less stiff and 'solid state'.

I guess I'm just going to have to stick to the old V30.

For those interested, the Roadkill Badger weighs 11kg unloaded, this from the manufacturer.

Having just mentioned it to Mrs Chilli, she asked if I would be collecting it, or simply scraping it off the road.

    Boom, boom!

    Hey Gear addict.

Just wondered if you ever managed to get this sorted? I am thinking of ordering a couple of roadkills this month

    Ha!

    Yes, I did.

Unfortunately, I'm not really getting on with it - I'm just not that keen on the sound of the TH-30 through it. Kind of annoying having got it specially in Orange orange! It's on ebay atm, starting at 199. If you want an orange one I'd take an offer though!
