The Jet City JCA24S is pretty damn light and made of ply. Sounds good, if a little bright, with the original Eminence speakers.

I can comfortably lift the cab in one hand and the amp (JCA50H) in the other - subjectively, they both weigh about the same.

You can usually get hold of the cabs for about £130-odd on eBay.

I really like my roadkill badger, it's very small and compact and light (far smaller and lighter than the ones you're looking at, and, as far as i'm aware, the ones which have been mentioned so far- and it's still made of finger-jointed plywood). They offer it as a 1x12 option too, so that should give you some idea of how big it is- it feels little heavier than my epiphone valve junior 1x12 cabinet when using the side handles (though I haven't weighed either).

Admittedly- I only use it for Fendery tones, so how it handles br00tal overdrive, I dunno (I'm going to try some more speakers in it just to see how it handles the heavier stuff, but don't hold your breath as the speakers I'm going to try are on order, and have been for the past month ). I'm also only using a little vht special 6 into it, so that's hardly taxing the cab or speakers in terms of earth-shaking volume going into it.

But it sounds really good to me. You also get convertible back and mono/stereo capability as no-cost options. Good price, too (£170 unloaded, plus the £15 postage). They sometimes have 10% vouchers on their facebook site, too, so keep an eye on it.

EDIT: I have an eminence screamin' eagle and red white and blues in it, both of which have 38oz magnets, which are marginally heavier than the 35oz magnets in the medium magnet celestions. my epi valve junior had a texas heat in it when i compared the weights, and it has the same weight of magnet.

I was just coming in to recommend roadkill too but Dave beat me to it!

Excellent cabs and very customisable to meet your exact needs.

I recommend DV Mark. I think the 2x12 cab comes in at 10kg!

Come on guys, quote the cab weights for us if you can?

WTF is a Roadkill Badger? Sounds like something one of the my local non-indigenous residents would scrape up and pan-fry for a treat.

Yep Neo speakers indeed. It's the guys at Mark Bass who started producing guitar amps around 2 years ago. I have their 2x12 combo, which weighs in at 17kg and let me tell ya, it's made the world of difference to my back!

the DV Mark stuff seems to be getting a lot of mentions lately eg Frank Gambale interview in Guitarist. Over £500 for the 2x12 though ( if you can find one).
