    But seriously,
3 years ago I could (just) heft an S1 200 from floor to bench.
Last week I disrobed an S1 100 and decided that was now my limit!

(I was sick. Retired at 65, got a lot sicker for 18months, got a lot better and went back.)

Now! 30 years ago I was carrying 26 inch CRT colour TV's ONE handed upstairs!!!

    Dave.

Is it crucial to have a 2x12? It's a daft question, but a 2x10 or 1x12 or even a 1x15 (maybe defeating the lightness...) can sound fantastic.

However, if a 2x12 is required for projection and tone, then Neo speakers are your best bet. They are not harsh or bright to my ears, but they are quite flat, so eq changes have a very obvious and pronounced effect, whereas V30's or Greenbacks have their own obvious character.

I'd try before you buy with neos to make sure you can shape the tone the way you want it. While I used to have the treble at a 6 with a 70/80, when I switched to neodog, I had to tame that to 4-5, and bring the mids up a touch. There are some old vox valvetronix cabs that had neo speakers in, from the Mk 1 valvetronics. They look the dogs, too. This is a link I found to one, but they crop up on the used market fairly cheap too.

It's an interesting thread this, particularly as there's differing points of view from different age groups. Is it a balance between getting the right sound, and what you can carry? For the fit, young bucks out there, I guess it's not a problem. But for us 50-somethings with dodgy backs, it can be a real pain. Literally.

I looked at the Road Kill Badger, but was disappointed it wasn't covered with black and white striped tolex.

Shouldn't that be black, white and red?

Just checked. You can indeed have black, white and red, but not at the same time.

This is the great thing about Roadkill. If you want something he will do it.

If you are looking for a cab i'd definitely get in touch with them.
