Default Cubase LE5. Can't "see" it.

I have LE5 (NI Ka6 bundle) on my HP i3 laptop.

It seems to work fine in all other respects but if I Rclick on a .wav say on the desktop and go to "open with" LE5 is not there. No amount of browsing around seems to find it. I can find totally audio unrelated programs such as Adobe Acrobat but never Cubase E5?

Can anyone help this computer numpty? I rarely use LE5 but this just bugs me!

    Dave.

    Dave.
associate le5 with .wav file-types in the file types bit - explorer window / tools/file-types

browse to .wav and then click the "open with" button and associate .wav with cubase - assuming it appears

Sorry Jim. Explorer in the taskbar (Win 7 64) gets me "Libraries" no sign of "Tools".
Click "local disc C" gives me a huge list but still no Tools. (there is an HP tools but that is not it) .

But re "Associate". Many programs ask about this when installing (and as many don't!) I have never known what to do about it, the list to associate "too" always seems odd?

I have found SOMETHING of what you have said in XP but it is a bit deep for me and I stopped poking about!

Also found this: pretty much beyond me.

well it seems from a quick search/read that it's another thing MS ballsed up.

it apparently can be fixed (maybe) with some regedit fiddling.

    does summat like this help?

Oooerr! Thanks Jim but I can live with what I have!
Oddly, Cubase E 6 IS listed if I browse for it (swopped the dongle from the biggy) but I still can't "put" E6 into the pane of programs that will open the .wav. No real matter, I can import it or drag and drop .wavs, just bugs one!

    Thanks again,
    Dave.

right click on the wav file
    left click on open with
if you dont see le5 in the list goto choose default programs
    click on browse
locate the steinberg folder (program files or program files (x86)
find the cubase program and click open with.

or goto Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs
    and click associate a program
then find .wav in the list and follow the same steps above.

When it asks you to associate, instead of going into the list, click "browse". Then navigate to c:\Program files\Steinberg\cubase[whatever].exe

Then in future it will appear in the list. You can associate it permanently (use this to open all files of this nature- something like that), but I tend to leave it so that I have a choice.
