    eeee.... as a master keys yes, u can use it with any daw on any platform as a straight master-keys cos it has usb connection.

    All that ipad setup is, is a slot to house the ipad vertically and then it is connected via an ipad usb converter cable. so in that scenario in the image you'd be using it to play the various synths etc in the "comes-with" NI package for the ipad.

    you could also use garageband.
    you'd have to....... get a mac... tho

    I know you will one day, lol

    in fact old core2duo mini's are so cheap s/h now i'm suprised you havent grabbed one to give it a go. I've seen the even older coreduo ones for 40 quid with a mouse/keys
