Trace Elliot 715x
Trace Elliot 715x Combo.......There's one of these available near me for a mere £150. Apparently the speaker needs fixing but the amp and all it's features work fine. Anyone know much about it?
....And a Peavey 700 watt cab for £100 too.

pretty similar to what I offered to you with a new Celestion speaker in mine.
Plenty of power, good amps.
Is the Peavey just a cab ? if so about right price, but well worth it.
Funnily enough I was going to recommend Trace Elliot in your last thread, in the last 6 months I have seen used 2 trace elliot combos 200- 300watts 1X 15 going for £100 and 4x10-£175, both in shops good condition, working. Really good gear that seems to be out of fashion so bargains to be had. I would suggest finding out the repair cost, if it's more than you are prepared to spend, keep your eyes open cos their not as rare at this kinda price as you may think.
I had a BLX 80 for a while, which punched well above its weight for its size-tuned cabinet, kevlar coated speakers. I also used a top end model at a rehearsal room, which baffled me with its complexity- Hi/Lo compression/crossover/Blend etc. Ummmmmm....
Bass equipment is almost a cottage industry these days. if you dont want to get too bogged down with equipment and are looking for something well built, professional sounding and reliable to gig with, then you could do worse. Some people find them a bit "hi-techy" sounding, but use a bass overdrive to add a bit grit to the sound. However bare in mind that they're gonna be friggin heavy to move
Oh yeah, I overlooked your post Kone'....Was concentrating on the amp/cab arrangement at the time! Got any more info, pics etc on the TE and where abouts are you mate?

got some gig pics of me using it. Depping with some rock and roll bands. try and dig them out, I am in Sherborne about an hour or so from Ringwood so not far. Welcome to try it no obligation.
I was playing in a fairly big hall with a Rockabilly band called Memphis 56 who were fairly loud, amp coped well enough to be told to turn down
Its small enough to carry one handed yet packs enough punch to get away with. Any more power, you can put it through PA
Current Trace amps are based on (Cr)Ashdown designs, so I'd be a bit wary.
But, they do sound very nice I have to say.
The Reverend Lord Henry was not one of those new-fangled parsons who carry the principles of their vocation uncomfortably into private life.
This one is quite a few years old, and in better condition than me
never failed on a gig yet. (me or the amp)
