Black Shuck is such a brilliant opener! Great fun band, The Darkness. Nothing more, nothing less. Just a shame One Way Ticket... was so damn awful!

It wasnt though. It was just so over hyped, and over produced. Like the new record, theres 5 or 6 great great tracks, and the rest are good.
I saw one of the first reunion shows in Liverpool, (and was lucky enough to meet Justin) and they were just wonderful live. Its so great that after all the problems they have had, they are getting a good second chance, and more fool the cool kids who diss them. They are a great rock n roll band. I was gutted I couldnt see them supporting Lady Gaga. Both acts would have been fantastic but the tickets were just too expensive.

Give them credit. They kick arse! I mean. Watch that live performance and then consider the following facts.

    - Justin was blowing thousands on drugs and alcohol, wound up in rehab, suffered many bouts of laryngitis as well so his voice for what he's done... it's still pretty incredible that he can get up there with those notes!

    - Dan had cancer, and has a partner + young kids now too

    - Ed had both hips replaced... that he can still drum for pretty much a whole tour is a miracle I reckon.

    - Frankie... well. He got fired from the band in the making of the 2nd album. I never thought he'd actually come back. Nobody really knows what he did during the band's 6 year long hiatus.

So I'd say against all the odds, really, this should never have happened. For them to be able to pull performances like Download, IoW etc off and tour America, the UK, most of Europe, play in Japan (once), and tour Australia, release a new album and for some unknown reason tour Europe with Lady Gaga in just under 2 years... that's nothing short of miraculous.

    And I love them. Haha.

If you don't currently like them, I'd suggest you find "With a Woman" from the new album. It's the track I'm getting a good conversion rate with at the moment! Haha!
